Hi guys, I’m Kelsey, the Digital Manager at Cook Culture, and an avid lover of all things Vitamix. I just wanted to pop in to say hey, and to give you a lowdown on what to look for when purchasing a Vitamix.
Vitamix blenders are all the rage right now. And to be honest, they deserve all the attention they are getting. At Cook Culture, we do sell a couple of other brands of blenders, but we keep coming back to the Vitamix because it really does everything. Right now we’ve got a big promotion on our Vitamix blenders until January 7th ($50 off online and in-store, with a little something extra for our in-person shoppers), and our customers keep asking the same thing: I want a Vitamix, but how do I find the right one for me?
Purchasing a Vitamix isn’t something that most take lightly, and you probably don’t want to walk into a store and just point to the one you want while blindfolded. So let’s narrow down which Vitamix is right for you.
The Vitamix Play-By-Play
The Vitamix Ascent Series
Avg. Price: $799
If you want to make it all (which we recommend), then you’ll want something from the Ascent Series. You can make everything from a basic smoothie to hot soup. Yes really, hot soup from raw veggies. What makes the Ascent Series Vitamix even better, is its range of interchangeable containers. You can make a large batch with a 64-ounce container, or you can use a smaller, cup holder sized container to blend up your yummy The Good Stuff smoothie.
Positives of The Vitamix Ascent Series:
- Three different sizes of containers, as well as a dry container
- Options to go touch if you want
- A clear lid to help you see what’s going on down there
- Program options that allow you to make anything you want with a press of the button (available on the Vitamix A2500 & Vitamix A3500)
- Self Cleaning
The Ascent Series is definitely the most versatile of the Vitamix line, but that doesn’t mean it’s the one for you. Let’s check out the Vitamix Personal Blender.
The Vitamix Personal Blender
Avg. Price: $599
If you have a smaller budget, and you plan on making smaller batches in your Vitamix, you might want to consider the Vitamix S55 Personal Blender. You still have two container size options, a 20-ounce that becomes an instant travel cup with flip-top lid, and a 40-ounce for small batches of soups, sauces, frozen desserts, and more. Even in this little personal blender, you can still make hot soup. If you haven’t noticed, I still can’t get over it.
Another plus is its size. It’s much smaller than any other Vitamix, so if you’ve got a small apartment with minimal counter space, or minimal storage space, the Vitamix Personal Blender may be the right answer for you.
Positives of The Vitamix Personal Blender:
- Small for easy storage
- Two container sizes
- Can still make anything a regular sized Vitamix can
- More budget-friendly
- Program options that allow you to make anything you want with a press of the button
- Self cleaning
The Vitamix Heritage Blender
Avg. Price: $849
The Vitamix 750 Heritage is one of our best selling blenders. Why? Because it’s a classic workhorse that everyone has seen in at least one of their friends kitchens. This version of the Vitamix is very similar to the Ascent series, at this point it’s really about the look you want. This is my personal favourite as it’s just as versatile as the Ascent series, but I prefer the look of this base.
Positives of The Vitamix Heritage Blender:
- Has the classic Vitamix look
- Three different sizes of containers, as well as a dry container
- Self cleaning
Concerned about horsepower differences?
Don’t be. All full-sized Vitamix machines are 2.2 Horsepower, the personal Vitamix is 1.1 Horsepower, and are all just as high quality as the next. It’s really up to you to decide on the size and style that fits you best as they are all going to work just as well.
Still unsure of what Vitamix to get?
Cook Culture has 2 Vancouver locations and one North Vancouver location. Pop into any of our stores and we would love to chat with you and help you find your dream Vitamix.
